Choosing a real estate agent in Costa Rica is a lot like selecting a surgeon for a hip replacement. You want a veteran surgeon who has done thousands of successful surgeries, not an intern that’s going to “learn” on you. You want a surgeon that all the anesthesiologists say is “gifted” not just good. And at the end of the day you want the guy that’s going to improve your health, not ruin it with complications. Buying, or selling, real estate in Costa Rica can be a good or bad experience based on the real estate agency you choose. You want someone that’s been around the block, SEVERAL TIMES, someone who really knows the market, knows the players, knows which properties to avoid and which ones to consider. In short, you can’t go wrong with ABC. I brought my family down to Tamarindo for a year before deciding to purchase property down here. Over the course of the year I got a lot of positive feedback from people in the area saying ABC was a good company to do business with, which is why I chose them. Jogi knows the area really well. He’s lived here a long time and has seen everything when it comes to doing real estate transactions down here. I just purchased a lot that is located on a hillside here in town. Jogi was very helpful when it came to getting a soil stability test performed, property lines resurveyed, coordinating things with the attorneys, the seller, etc. He constantly kept me updated on things from start to finish, which was really important. Bottom-line, I’d highly recommend using ABC.
