The dry season has arrived, and in our canton of Santa Cruz this marks the beginning of the “Fiestas” in many of our local towns.  One of the largest and most well know in the country are the “Fiestas Tipicas Nacionales”, held in Santa Cruz, and declared this name by the President Daniel Oduber in 1974.

The Happy Planet Index 2.0 reveals a surprising picture of the relative wealth and progress of nations.

The second global ranking of well-being and environmental impact shows that: Costa Rica comes top of the Happy Planet Index 2.0. Costa Ricans report the highest life satisfaction in the world, have the second-highest average life expectancy of the Americas (second only to Canada).
